SERVICES

Through advocacy, education, and strategic legal support, Quincy's Counsel is committed to promoting positive fatherhood, strengthening familial bonds, and contributing to a more just and equitable legal system.

Divorce & Separation

Divorce and legal separation are legal processes that allow married couples to formally end their marital relationship or establish a legal separation without completely dissolving the marriage. Both processes require an order from the court. Mediation is a less costly and more amicable means to reach these ends.

Custody

Custody involves the right to make important decisions about the child's life, such as education, healthcare, and religious upbringing. Legal custody can be joint (both parents share decision-making) or sole (one parent has the authority to make decisions). The laws favor shared custody, but this often requires legal action for fathers.

Child Support

Child support is a legal obligation that one parent has to financially contribute to the upbringing and well-being of their child, typically after a divorce or separation. The goal of child support is to ensure that both parents fulfill their financial responsibilities towards their child, even if they are no longer in a relationship.
Failure to pay child support can have legal consequences, including fines, wage garnishment, and even imprisonment in some cases.

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence against men is a serious issue that is often overlooked, but happens every day. Common forms of domestic violence against men include verbal abuse, physical assault, parental alienation and manipulation.
Men may also face unique barriers to seeking help, such as societal stereotypes that men should be able to handle or "man up" to domestic violence, or fear of not being believed. It's important to know that help is available.

Our Goal

Our ultimate goal is to enable fathers to actively participate in their children's lives and contribute to the development of healthy, thriving families. At Quincy's Counsel, we believe in the inherent value of fatherhood and are unwavering in our commitment to securing the rights and responsibilities that come with it. Together, we strive to build a world where fathers are empowered to play an integral role in the lives of their children, fostering environments of love, stability, and mutual respect
